What magnification rifle scope do I need for Australian hunting?

A 3-15x or 4-16x variable magnification scope covers the full range of likely shot distances, from thick bush under 100m to open country at 400m or more. Fixed magnification rarely suits Australia's terrain variety. First focal plane (FFP) scopes hold accurate reticle markings at every magnification, better for long-range shooting. Second focal plane (SFP) is simpler and often more affordable if you mostly shoot at maximum zoom.

What is included when I buy a riflescope?

Each riflescope comes with a neoprene scope cover, ideal for field use and for storage.

Why don't you offer a demo program for riflescopes?

Riflescopes are difficult to demo for two reasons. First, scope mounting requires knowledge and specialised tools that are not always readily available. Without them a demo unit could be over-torqued and damaged, and without proper eye relief the person using it could be injured.

Second, if a demo scope came back damaged and we did not catch it before sending it to the next customer, that customer would get a poor experience at best and an unsafe device at worst. Riflescopes can instead be returned within 7 days in new and unmounted condition.

How are SFP subtensions calculated?

Take the RS.2 SHR reticle as an example. With the scope zeroed at its highest power, 10x, the measurement from the centre of the reticle to the bottom hash mark is 20 MOA. At 2x, divide the high power by the low power, which gives 5, and multiply: 5 x 20 is 100 MOA at 2x.
